how all ideas begin

A kid sat on the steps thinking
He sat and sat wondering what to do
When he saw a light blinking
Now he knew, what to do

He began by taking a light
And looking at it with wonder
He sat there all night
When, who but appeared, but last year’s science teacher

Remember, every project starts with a question
Said the wise old man, who went to make a test
He asked himself, how long does a light last
And he then began his quest

I'd like it better if it had a fixed number of syllables per line, or perhaps a less random arrangement. Perhaps you could make the rhyming more concrete, "question" and "last" don't rhyme. However, the idea is intriguing and I enjoyed it to some extent.

the first thing is that as you are ending a para then put a fullstop or Q'mark at the end.The word sat was used too often try using a different word.It kind of makes the para boring.

He began by taking a light
And looking at it with wonder
He sat there all night
When, who but appeared, but last year’s science teacher

this paragraph needed more puntuations in the three first lines.

Remember, every project starts with a question
Said the wise old man, who went to make a test
He asked himself, how long does a light last
And he then began his quest
